FORESTRY ENGINEERING
The aspiring forestry engineer must demonstrate: knowledge of basic sciences: biology, physics, mathematics, chemistry, geography.
The forestry engineer will be trained to:
Develop, execute and evaluate sustainable management programs for forest ecosystems.
Correctly apply and adapt assessment methodologies for timber and non-timber forest resources.
Generate research and transfer of appropriate technology to promote the growth of production, productivity and competitiveness of the forestry area.
Direct or manage projects, companies and institutions that have to do with the forestry or agroforestry area of the country.
Plan, conduct, analyze, interpret and transfer knowledge in the area of natural resources of a multidisciplinary and eminently participatory nature, to promote the development of the sector.
Lead decisions related to the development of a system of laws and regulations that guide the application of forest use and promote its acceptance by the public.
Observation and reasoning skills, oral and written expression.
Taste for outdoor activities, and interest in the conservation of natural resources and sustainable development, as well as desire for self-improvement and initiative.
Duración: 9 semestres.
